Mary and I consider Max our “go to guy” for all of our home repairs and enhancements. His projects have included  installing an attic fan, shoring up the flooring in our 1930′s circa house, painting, roof repairs and numerous “handyman” jobs with his most brilliant work being the transformation of our backyard into an outdoor living space. Max designed and built a beautiful cedar pergola to provide privacy around our patio area and closed off one end of our covered porch to make it look and feel like another room in our house. We enjoy having Max in our home and think of him as a friend. His is reliable and honest and does exceptional work. Mary and I feel lucky to have found Max and look forward to him helping us keep our home in great shape for years to come.

We hired Max to do a major renovation of our house in Dogwood Acres, which involved completely gutting and installing a new kitchen, turning one screened porch into an enclosed living room, installing a beautiful bay window on the front of the house, and enclosing a second screened porch off the master bedroom –increasing the size of the master bedroom. We were amazed at the level of detail in Max’s work and the initiative he took in making sure the entire project was completed without a hitch.  He is super trustworthy and dependable –and shows up when he says he’s going to be there. He takes pride in his work and has a good eye, which was helpful when we needed guidance in making decisions along the way. We’ve worked with many different kinds of contractors over the years with lots of disappointments. Max is a keeper! We’ve hired him to come back and do several other projects over the past few years and plan to hire him for all future projects at the house.

Max has been looking after my house for 5+ years, and I really feel he is looking after me as well.  When I call him about a specific problem, he does the job in the simplest and most efficient way possible, and leaves things neat as a pin afterward.  What I particularly like is that: not only  does he follow up to be sure the problem really has been solved, but he is observant about beginning or potential problems that haven’t yet caught my attention.  I have never been knowledgeable about home maintenance, and it is very reassuring to know that Max is keeping an eye on things for me.
